Dear Missouri Working Families e-Activist:
Missouri Action Needed
Contact your state representative now!
Anti-worker, anti-union state legislators are attacking our voice and our unions. On Wednesday, the House Workforce Committee—led by Rep. Steve Hunter, who is no friend of working families—is voting on two bills that unfairly target union workers.
Please click the following link to urge your state representative to oppose H.B. 876 and H.B. 878, or keep reading.

876 slaps working people and public employee unions—but no one else—with costly, burdensome regulations. It would force local unions, elected union leaders and even shop stewards to compile extensive, expensive reports—while letting corporations and other groups completely off the hook.
H.B. 878 would silence the voice of working families at the Statehouse and in politics. It would take away public employees’ rights to work through their unions to lobby the legislature, participate in voter registration campaigns, make campaign contributions and work on ballot initiatives. Meanwhile, wealthy corporations and every other organization in Missouri—from the Sierra Club to the Chamber of Commerce—could keep right on working on politics and legislation. Please contact your state representative now and urge him or her to stop these attacks on Missouri workers and our unions. Click here:

Missouri workers and our unions support reasonable financial disclosure requirements, but H.B. 876 even tells union members how we should run our unions—from how we should vote on dues to setting our meeting dates. That’s just not right. And laws like H.B. 878 step all over our constitutional rights to free speech, freedom of association, equal protection and due process—that’s why they’ve been overturned in other states. If H.B. 878 passes, count on seeing plenty of taxpayer dollars spent on court fights that may last fro years. Please take a minute right now to tell your state representative to oppose H.B. 876 and H.B. 878. Click the following link:
