Hi All Good DC Anti-War Network Folks,

For us veteran Anti-War protestors, the sight of a guy carrying a sign with an
Anti-War message is a common everyday experience. You must admit that at a
conventional protest even the best written and lettered placard is viewed
mainly by...other protestors.

But for many people from Heartland American, who have never set eyes on a
single protestor in their entire lives, being confronted with enthusiastic
placard-wielding dissenters for the first time is a shocking experience
indeed. FOX News does not prepare them for the experience.

Come out and grind an Anti-War message into their faces and into the faces of
their children. It's fun to watch a Rush Limbaugh dittohead tourist from
Littleworth County Arkansas suddenly being peppered with war questions from
his kids.

Show sympathetic tourists from around the world that there is spirited dissent
against the Neocon agenda here in America. This is a great way to make new
friends and contacts internationally without leaving town.

Every single day the Smithsonian Metro station disgorges hundreds and
thousands of tourists from Bush's heartland and from around the world. Make
sure an ANTI-WAR message is what they see even before they glimpse the
Obelisk.

Saturday, starting at around 10 AM at the entrance to the Smithsonian Metro
Station, lasting as long as you do. EVERY Saturday for the entire tourism
season.

Make a boldly lettered sign that looks good in a photo as you will become a
permanent fixture in family vacation photo albums on all continents.

RSVP not necessary, just show up. If we have enough folks, we can split up the
group and send a few over to the Lincoln Memorial steps. If even more show up,
we can send a few over to the White House. As far as I know, no permit is
needed for groups of three or four people holding signs.

Peace Out,
Eric

This Saturday, please join us outside the exit of the Smithsonian Metro
Station at 1:15 PM so that we can walk together with signs and flyers out
toward the Air & Space Museum where the government will be celebrating
Public Service Recognition Week. We aren't protesting public servants;
what we'll be drawing attention to are the vast displays of military
equipment that will be glorified on the Mall, often at the expense of the
other programs and services provided by some of the other public servants.

We believed that there should be some sort of anti-war presence, so the DC
Anti-War Network (DAWN) has endorsed an action of protest and flyering.

The action will finish with a meeting of a working group working on
stopping the draft, counter-recruitment, and ending stop loss.

Many tens of thousands of people populate the Mall on the weekends from
all over the world. It's a good opportunity to pass out literature and
engage in conversations.

We hope to see you there, signs and flyers ready.
