To all frequent visitors to the CGCS Military Issues forums:
The staff of CGCS wishes to express our gratitude to all members of the military who have served and continue to serve our nation proudly. We offer our best wishes and support to all family members of our service men and women serving at home and overseas.
We ask our Veterans (and other members who visit this forum) to remember our CGCS forum rules when posting messages in the military forum. Diverse viewpoints are expected and welcomed. Disparaging comments about others’ service to our country, name-calling, baiting and personal attacks are not welcomed, nor will they be tolerated, regardless of the member's political views or personal background. All members are expected to debate the issues politely, or we will remove or edit the posts in violation of our rules. If entire topics become flame wars they will be cleaned up (posts in violation of rules removed), closed or removed entirely; regardless of who started the topic or was involved in the dispute. If members persist in such activity we may, as a last resort, reluctantly be forced to restrict their permissions.
Moderating a forum is a challenge and fairness is always an issue. We are doing our best to be fair although some uncivil posts occasionally get by us. Feel free to call our attention to such posts and we will take the action that we consider appropriate. We do not selectively enforce our rules nor do we moderate based on our personal opinions concerning the issues being discussed.
Concerning issues of free speech, free expression and censorship; your membership in this community is voluntary and the requirement of compliance with forum rules is in no way a restriction of anyone’s free speech. Members should understand that paid subscriptions to CGCS do not allow them to circumvent the forum rules.

Civility is central to our mission, and without it, CGCS is just another free for all. Please take this in the spirit in which it is intended: a call for members to recognize that they are part of a community. We may disagree on issues, but we all have a responsibility to be civil.
Thank you,
The CGCS Administrators
