I couldn't find it either. Don't think it's Al Franken, eh? Could it be Michael Sullivan?
Watched Franken in a taped interview with Tim Russert on CNBC tonight. Methinks Al was tryin' to peddle a book, but was pretty pathetic as Russert very neatly dissected the allegations in it. If/when Franken gets the nod as the Democrat opposin' Coleman in the contest for the U.S. Senate seat he better do a whole lot better or it'll be a slaughter!
I saw that too. I think Al Franken's demeanor on Russert is the real Al Franken. He is a little goofy. That's an issue of style and is ok with me. Norm Coleman doesn't seem like a big time statesman either.
He says himself that he wears his heart on his sleave--”crys at McDonalds commercials” so there will probably be more odd demeanor moments. It will be painful to watch the to see the Republicans show out of context video of him. That being said, I hope he doesnt’ defensively censor himself. Some natural actors like Clinton can get away with it, but most candidates IMHO are better off just being themselves.
I dont’ know if you watched the whole interview but Franken responded quite effectively later on when he took the book out of Russerts hands , confronted him with taking his quotes out of context, and turned the tables on him.
He is really tough when he knows he is facing an adversary like Bill O'Reilly. I hope he gets a little smoother with "friendly" adversarial interviewers, without falling into the trap of awkward self-censoring. He cries, he goofs off, and he swears. I can live with that. He even took down a heckler with a double-leg tackle at a democratic primary event in 2004. This could turn into a slaughter unless he can stay himself and turn the inevitable out of context sound bites to his advantage.
I think he has the potential to be refreshing like his friend Paul Wellstone or Bernie Sanders.
