Join us on June 19th 2005 at the African American Civil War Memorial, 11th and U Streets, NW Washington DC as we celebrate Juneteenth, the holiday commemorating the date in 1865 when many slaves in Texas learned they had been freed by the Emancipation Proclamation (January 1, 1863), and rally for statehood for DC.

An afternoon of music, speakers, remembrance and fellowship hosted by Jared Ball (of Blackademics on WPFW)

Event runs from 12 Noon - 5PM
