JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) -- Some people in Missouri praise the U.S. Supreme Court's ruling that a Ten Commandments display can remain on the Texas Capitol grounds.

A similar monument stands outside Missouri's Capitol, on the north side of the Statehouse grounds.

The Supreme Court Monday said a six-foot granite monument on the grounds of the Texas Capitol is a legitimate tribute to the nation's legal and religious history.

The monuments in Texas and Missouri were donated by the Fraternal Order of the Eagles.

A member of the group in Jefferson City says he's never heard a complaint about Missouri's display, and says the Ten Commandments are an important part of the nation's history.

Walkers, joggers and tourists often pass by Missouri's monument without stopping.
