This is a thread that is running on the Smith & Wesson Forum titled Aussie gun grab maybe not such a good idea?.
The first post has been somewhat de-bunked because of skewed numbers, but is not entirely false.
The comments by "merlindrb" however are quite telling of the state of affairs in Great Briton. This is a good ongoing read, IMO.
Also!...There is a link to the Tony Martin Support Group. He was a British farmer, who shot and killed a burglar with his shotgun in his farmhouse one night. He had been burgled a number of times in the previous few years. He was found guilty of murder and served (I think) 3 years of a life sentance before being freed after a public outcry.

Why are we hung up on belaboring this losing ,fookin, arguement, beyond all points of insanity?
It is past time for some of you to give up your selfish little crusade, and try to win some popular votes.
I am all kinds of impressed with the fierce dedication some of you show ,in your little personal vendetta, against me, and my damned old antique rifles, but, it all comes down to just how much your personal crusade is damaging my quest for things my grandson really needs.
Democracy means that everyone doesn't have to walk in step with you.
Can we ever get beyond your personal little hangups?
I sure don't see much hope.

makes you wonder doesn't it....people would rather drive to a supermarket and buy unhealthy meats than go out in the field and kill/clean/process themselves dontknow.gif

when my Mom passed there was a court appointed executor of her estate....as this executor was going through the individual rooms of this 5 bedroom house he came to one closet that had 7 antique rifles that had belonged to my grandfather....this 'court appointed' executor pulled out the cell phone and called the police about a weapons 'cache' in the house. LOL I still can't believe that they confiscated the guns. When they saw a bow with arrows coming out of the closet, I real quick jumped in and said they were a wall decoration.

The thing that really sucks is 'somebody' has my grandfather's rifles hanging on their wall. thumbdown.gif

Some people never heard from their grandmothers and grandfathers how the family was broken and scattered across the land, and they think that it will never happen, to them.
I pray for peace, but it is not wise, in this world, to depend on it.
I will stop now, I lose patience with people who tell me I am not trustworthy, and that is exactly what some people are telling us.
Maybe they don't trust themselves.

I know, it was in a state where there is an amnesty program on turning in guns and ALL guns are bad.

You know that those guns went into someone's collection.

I will never forget my grandmother's words and never stop feeling her sorrow.

Those that will not belief our history are now seeing the first stages of their own problems. They don't even trust themselves.

There is a time to wish for peace and a time to stand for those who couldn't. That is something we can always do.

Don't count on it. Those folks who believe all guns are bad see no distinction between a gun with a cultural or historical significance and a Saturday night special.

To them it's just something evil to be rid of.

My Father in law has an old Winchester lever action that was passed down to him from his Father. It looks like a 94 winchester but it's stamped Winchester Model 92 and chambered for a .218 bee cartridge. He uses it to hunt squirels with.

"Amnesty" means give up, and kiss my tail, and maybe I won't shoot you down, if I am in a benevolent mood, tomorrow.
"Amnesty" means you smile, while someone cuffs your hands behind you.
Why can't we believe in Freedom, and Democracy, at the same time?
If Democracy opposes Freedom, then, I am opposed to Democracy.
When I die, and likely to be soon, I want to be rememberd as a Warrior voting for Peace, but, prepared for war.
The People of the Cities can never speak for the People of the Forest, and the Swamps, and the Plains! We can speak as one, only if you are willing!
Now, no one speaks for Me, but Me!
Why would anyone vote in favor, of anything, contrary to their own freedom, for any reason? I won't, ever, not even in the name of "Peace".
If the Tyrant of tomorrow turns out to be the Democrat of today, it will still be tyranny!
I don't care where the Jack Boot on my neck was made, it is still a Fookin Jack boot on my neck!
