Full Version: Freepers are Freeping Out About Bayh

I don't visit the Freeper board but a link to their discussion about Bayh came up when I was doing some research. They are freeping out about Bayh. They have no idea how they will attack him and are very concerned that if he gets the nomination he'll win.

Well we're kinda hoping that he does because Freeps we plan on winning. Never thought Freepers could be used for PR for Bayh but they're saying what I have been saying all along. Just a few freeped out comments:

Mark my words, this guy will be the next President. He'll slay Hilary, pretend to be a real centrist, and run to the RIGHT of Rudy, McCain, or Romney if they're elected by the GOP. He'd also give Allen a tough race. After 8 years of the GOP in power, I think he stands an excellent chance of winning. I hate the prospect of ANY Dem winning, but I've felt this for a long time, and still do. I'm sure most fellow FReepers will disagree. He'll take Indiana, and maybe a southern state or two... That's all he'd need.
-
Is anyone else worried about this guy? He doesn't have the negative baggage that Hilary has... Can't be labeled a lib, and I believe he has solid military experience, and has been to the right of most libs. Would love to know what his weaknesses are.
-
I'm from Indiana and I'm worried about him. He's as slick as Clinton and without the baggage as you say. He's just another liberal that sides with the extremists in the Senate. I agree with you. He has an excellence chance of being the next President. He would slay Hillary.
-
Bayh is a scary candidate. He'd run to the right of the Guliani or MeCain and win.

Hopefully we'll run a real conservative who can expose Bayh for the fraud he is. Bayh may talk like Limbaugh but he votes like Ted Kennedy.
-
Lifetime ACU rating for Bayh: 22. He could carry Indiana as a Democrat--a rarity for a Presidential contender.

The last time a Democrat carried Indiana was 1964.
-
I'm from Indiana and I'm also scared to death that he will fool more than enough people to win. He is a lib in every way except one...he supported the war and says all the right things about that.

Indiana is a solid conservative state, yet he got enough crossover votes to win, with large margins, two terms as Governor.

Even some of my staunch conservative (but uninformed) friends have said they could be persuaded to vote for him, proving that his lies while at home are effective. Of course, he then goes to D.C. and votes with his buddy Teddy.

I hope those of you predicting a divided dem vote are correct and he does not even make it out of the primaries.
-
I've been saying all along that he's our worst nightmare. Hillary has no shot in a general election. Bayh would carry Indiana (11 EV's) and Richardson would carry New Mexico (5 EV's). Let's assume that they carry all the Kerry States. The GOP EV total would then be reduced from 286 to 271 (need 270 to win). I can easily see another Southwestern state like Arizona or Nevada being picked off because of Richardson to give the dems the win.

I think Allen will be our candidate (I know he's a Senator know but he was a popular Governor of Virginia). To put us back over the top we need someone from a Kerry state as the V.P nominee like Pawlenty from Minnesota to flip it back over. Hence, my tagline.
-
Bayh would crush Allen and or Pawlenty.
-
Why is everyone always saying we need to pick up a Blue state? Hold the States we have.Pawlenty does not have the support of conservatives in his own state and Allen is more popular with moderates than real conservatives.IF WE CAN'T beaT Bayh in Indiana then we do not deserve the White House
-
Evan's political career got a big boost from the name recognition his father - Birch - had in the state. He is an out of nowhere candidate like Clinton. He should be watched closely.
-
If Bayh gets the nomination, he wins. Period. We don't have anyone who could possibly beat him.

Fortunately, the moonbats in the Democrat primaries will probably reject him in favor of a more suitable candidate, such as Dean or Kucinich.
-
You know, Bayh is NOT a superman! I swear, I think you folks are scaring yourselves!

What good does it do to throw in the towel, now? The election is over 2 1/2 years from now. By then all sorts of things can happen, people can emerge that we haven't thought about on the Republican side, and Bayh could get caught in a scandal or something. For goodness sakes, let's try to be positive! At this time in the 2000 cycle, few had considered George Bush and none of us knew what a good campaigner he was.

Think positive!
-
He is quite liberal, despite the way he has successfully painted himself as a moderate. He is on the fringe on a number of issues. Voted against Condi for S.O.S., for example.

Love to hear the freepers squirm thumbsup.gif

I am not too up to date about Evan but I remember the old man, Birch. As I recall, he was a fair person and someone to be taken seriously. Sounds like the son may be following in Dad's footsteps. wink.gif

Do we have a resident expert on Evan ?

They fret about Hillary all the time, too. But what all this fretting is really saying is that they are afraid that they do not have a strong potential candidate for 2008.
Beamer
I think Bayh and Hillary are too "centrist" for me.

I think, with Shrub at the '2/3rds think he's a liar' and every poll taken showing him tanking like a flushed turd, they should probably be thinking in terms of '06 and whether The President and His Pet Chimp will survive an impeachment and senate trial.

Thought of something else today. Once people come to the conclusion that the Shrub is a liar, it's a bell that can't be unrung. His numbers can only go down, down, down, until it's only Foxheads and Freepers that can still drink the Kool-Aid. ok.gif

laugh.gif Winston, why don't you tell us what you really think, say, in more graphic terms roflmbo.gif

Freepers are still Freeping out about Bayh! Although there are many worried and some bashing there are several who seem to be at least interested in him. Freepers have begun to take aim at our potential candidates while we are taking aim at our own candidates. The things people say!!!! tongue.gif It's funny to read how many of them think he's a liberal.

Some of the newer comments..........................

I think the odds of him winning the Democrat primary are actually fairly high, so he should be taken seriously

.................................

I think you're right. I'm from Indiana and I heard this jerk for years. He has a certain Clinton aura about him. He's good looking which will get a significant women vote and if you've never listened to him, then everybody claims he's a conservative Democrat. This guy has real chance of being Prez.

.................................

Getting ready to run for president, he is.

I predict that this guy is the Democrats nominee in 2008--and maybe the next president.

..................................

Evan Bayh is not conservative, never has been, never will be. He's wild-eyed with ambition for the 2008 Dem. nom.

.................................

It seems clear that Bayh knows no crime was committed by Rove ...but he hasn't quite grasped the reality which is Rove leaked nothing....he didn't even initiate the phone calls, for crying out loud. I am really really enjoying this - wait till Bayh finds out that Rove is cleared by this investigation...these idiot Dems relying on leaks by reporters lawyers think they know what is going on the GJ - they don't have a clue IMO...there little brains can not grasp that the genius Rove is very likely going to be shown to be totally innocent

.................................

He sounded like a reasonable Democrat while he was Governor. When he got to D.C. he started to sound like Kennedy & Hillary.

.................................

"Bayh also voted against fellow Hoosier native son John Roberts."

He also voted against Condi Rice & Gonzales and voted against impeaching Clinton.

................................

Bayh says that is not the kind of politics he will practice (trying to harm someone personally for having a different point of view).

But here Bayh is, trying to harm Rove personally because Rove has a different point of view. Gee, maybe Bayh should resign. Of course he'll say he had good reasons for his statement, but so did Rove.

..................................

didn't say he'd necessarily get it, but Bayh would like it, and would help Hillary seem more centrist. As to Clark, he's crazy. We'll see if you're right.

...................................

He's going to win the primary as a presidential candidate, not VP.

.................................

I admire your confidence. For the sake of the country, I hope you're right. Even though I'd still prefer most of the GOP field to him, at least I wouldn't feel that the future of our country is as much at stake as if Hillary gets the nomination.

..............................

I'm wondering if Hillary Clinton running is just a head fake and the real goal is to get this guy in the Oval Office.

................................

the perenial hometown liberal spews forth his filth again. I hope he loses his next election bid

.................................

As a former Hoosier, Bayh is not as Liberal as most, but he still belongs to the "Party".

FellowDemocrat
Marie,

This doesn't surprise me at all. I've heard it before from other people time and time again.

Give Bayh the nomination, and he will give you a Democrat in the White House.
marie
Absolutely. What I found interesting is the conservative to far right conservative opinions. Obviously the far right will not support him or any Dem for that matter. The real question is will the independent and moderate Republicans support him with their votes. I think that would depend on who is the Republican nominee. Obviously McCain would garner the moderate voter and I know McCain would garner some moderate Democrat voters as well. He would be an all out threat to getting a Democrat in the whitehouse.

Freepers don't care for McCain but they are an exception anyways. wacko.gif
