Fort Wayne Peace Action Coalition in cooperation with the Unitarian Universalist Congregation is planning on renting a bus or two to head to Washington, DC for the anti-war rally. The plan is to leave Fort Wayne, Friday September 23, around 10:00pm and arriving at the Ellipse in DC on Saturday morning. After attending the rally, we'll hop back on the bus and depart DC around 10:00pm Saturday night, arriving back in Fort Wayne early Sunday morning. The late night drives will allow everyone to sleep on the bus both directions and thus save on accommodations.
I will be taking the journey and will document our trip here at a Little Left of Centrist after we return. This is your chance to be a part of history. This will be the largest anti-war rally since the Vietnam era. Be there!
Right now, it appears the cost of the bus will be $3422. The bus can carry 50 passengers, if we fill it up, that translates to roughly $70 per person. That's quite a deal! $70 for a round trip bus filled with friends to Washington, DC, not to mention the money you'll save on accommodations. Of course, you'll want to bring a little money for food. But the important thing is you can make a statement and be part of the movement that is saying, "George, we're mad as hell and we're not going to take your little war no more!"
If we can get close to 100 people, we're going to get a second bus. If you're interested in going, contact Bruce Hall at HallBr01-at-holmes.ipfw.edu
