It's nice to have a Governor who used to be an Attorney General! thumbsup.gif

This morning Democratic Governor Jennifer Granholm announced price caps on gasoline profits; this afternoon gas prices had mysteriously dropped from a high of $3.65 to $2.99.
It seems an agreement was reached with Marathon...

(...the quick capitulation makes me wonder just how high those profits have been.)

You may remember the Guv was a featured speaker at the Kerry Convention.

In the past as AG, she continually supported a consumer protection agenda-

In case you missed this on the news last night, Jennifer Grandholm was on telling everyone that in small print on your Ameritech phone bill this month is a message telling you that Ameritech (SBC) intends to sell your account information unless you notify them by the end of the month that you do not want them to make it available. The phone number is (800) 303-7260 to select that you do not want your account information made available to others. Jennifer (our Attorney General) recommends that you call and notify them that you do not want it made available.
She is upset about the way SBC is covering this up.

Frequently and venomously attacked by the religious right (they tried to get her excommunicated for her hands-off stand on women's rights) she has stayed a tough and intelligent course through the fiscal shambles the Engler Administration left behind.

I had to fill up today. You saved me 8 bucks. Thanks Guv yes2.gif

Not in my mind, she isn't. I have watched Michigan go from good to bad. First she cuts all our programs, Education, we lose jobs, and everyone I know are looking for work even in Detroit. The Upper Peninsula (where I am has no jobs). People are getting desparate. People who depend on medicare and medicaid are being cut. Now that election time is here she wants to give to Education and everything else she can do. She is a little late and not done much for the people. I voted for her but I'll have to take a close look at her again. I don't want to vote Republican but she's cut too much here. What I want to know is after telling us that she has had to cut everything, how does she get the money now to give anything back? She's a little late.
