Mike is on the Move!
Tuesday, 15 November 2005

The latest Wall Street Journal/Zogby International public opinion poll on the 2006 gubernatorial race in Ohio shows Mike Coleman ahead of Petro, Montgomery, and Blackwell and trending better than Congressman Ted Strickland.

In head-to-head match-ups with Republicans who have held statewide office for a combined 30 years, Mike is the only Democratic candidate that improves his standing against all three.

Mike Coleman has also taken the lead over Ken Blackwell and expanded his leads over both Petro and Montgomery.

Coleman now has the most momentum in the race, claiming the highest percentage of votes (44.2%) of all five Democratic and Republican candidates.

October’s Zogby poll had Mike Coleman and Congressman Strickland trailing Ken Blackwell by about 1%. In November, Mike jumped ahead, moving from 43% to 44.2%, versus Blackwell’s 42.9%. Coleman also leads Republican contenders Jim Petro by 6.5% and Betty Montgomery by 9.7%.

By wide margins, voters are already beginning to voice their opposition to scandal-ridden politicians in Ohio and in Washington, D.C. More importantly, these results begin to show that the defeat of Issues 2-5, the Reform Ohio Now amendments, was not a vindication of the Republican culture of corruption.

It’s clear that Ohio voters want strong, principled, and proven leadership in their next Governor. Only Mike Coleman has the experience to deliver real results without sacrificing the core values of the Democratic Party in 2006.

Summary from the WSJ/Zogby Intl Poll

Ken Blackwell, who was running just ahead of Congressman Ted Strickland and Mayor Michael Coleman in an October Zogby poll, now trails both. Jim Petro trails Strickland by 8.5% and was 6.5% behind Coleman. Montgomery's poll numbers were just as bad, lagging behind Strickland by 8% and trailing Coleman by 9.7%. (MoE 3.2%)

Once Blackwell is out of protective Repig cover, can he be indicted for voter fraud?
Brad
I'll support Mike if he wins the primary. But I'll be utterely surprised if he beats Ted Strickland.

The main thing is that WE win come next November!
