A name I recognized from my college days........Lisa Germano. She was in a band called Frank and the Farmers. She and her brother jammed with my hubby's band all those years ago while we were at I.U. As I recall her brother was a very talented musician as well. I remember her unbeleivable talent on the violin. It doesn't sound as though she's been playing much violin as of late. She was always very quiet when she was at the house. Glad to see she's still around and kickin'.

Germano was born in Mishawaka and raised in a classic Italian household. She grew up with five brothers and sisters and had grandparents that never spoke a word of English. Wine was flowing in the house as long as she could remember. Both of her parents were music teachers, and she recalls writing her first songs at the age of 7.

After living in Bloomington, Germano moved to Los Angeles in the late 1980s mostly to escape the Indiana winters. She often comes back to Mishawaka to visit family.

Lisa Germano can be heard on recordings by Neil Finn, John Mellencamp and David Bowie, she brings her own band to perform songs from her newly released CD, Lullaby for Liquid Pig, on Morning Becomes Eclectic at 11:15am.
