I was revisiting some of my old essays and posts, and this one intreagued me the most. It was my first post on this forum:

The election is over and we lost, bigtime. But no one needs to tell you that. There will be conspiracy theories and recriminations, but the fact is that, on the evening of January 20th, 2005, George Bush will have a good night's sleep in the same bed he has occupied since January 20th of 2001.

The shock, thankfully, is quickly wearing off, and we are begining to come together once again in common cause. Now is the time to look at immediate tactics and long term strategies for reclaiming the Congress and, ultimately, the White House.

Tactically, presenting an overwhelming position at the Inauguration on 1/20 should be a high priority. There is talk of getting so many people on the Mall in the hours before the ceremony that the police and their barracades would not be able to hold them back- short of using violence. We would own Pennsylvania Avenue like ants own a picnic table. If that is to happen, the organizing has to begin now. It will also be important to continue this peaceful civil disobedience for the chimp's entire term of office while, at the same time, doing everything legislatively to prevent the implementation of his agenda. Failing, as we will on occasion to do that, we must make sure to place blame on the Administration and the Republicans for the harsh consequences that are sure to follow.

Within the realm of tactics, we have to renew our image. Ours is the cause that looks out for the people. Were it not for people like us, we would be eating tainted meat, using useless and unsafe drugs, driving unsafe cars, breathing unbreathable air, and drinking undrinkable water. There would be no minimum wage, retirement benefits of any kind, or compensation for workers hurt on the job. We have nothing for which to apologize.

We have to destroy- not just discredit, but absolutely destroy- the Christian Talaban. Their message is spreading like a cancer. If you do not believe this, then read the commentary from Rev. Frank Pastore in the Los Angeles Times, 11/5/04. I have copied it at the end of this mms.

We also have to use the fears of our foe against them. Think about how Obama Barak was elected in IL; while he certainly would have probably won anyhow, the fact that his party turned on him didn't hurt; sexual scandal is compelling evidence of their weakness. Think of how they tried to destroy Clinton. They are afraid of gays, lesbians- virtually all forms of sexuality. This fear and all the relationships that derive from it needs to be exploited. Most of these Congressmen and Senators are powerful people, and powerful people do stupid things- have affairs, get caught in compromising situations. Democrats are expected to be hedonists (I say that tongue in cheek); the self-rightous get burned in their own hypocracy.

We need to quit falling in to Republican traps. This whole Carl Rove thing about a gay marriage amendment drew us right into the conundrum of the religious right; it was a trap and we fell into it.

Finally, we need to identify, now, those Democratic candidates who embody the wholesomeness of what the conservatives and religious right consider 'good' but who have the humanity important to the platform of our party.

Once these tactical problems are addressed- and solved- then we can begin working on White House strategies.

afternoon host on the Christian talk-radio station KKLA, 99.5 FM.

Christians, in politics as in evangelism, are not against people or the
world. But we are against false ideas that hold good people captive. On
Tuesday, this nation rejected liberalism, primarily because liberalism has
been taken captive by the left. Since 1968, the left has taken millions
captive, and we must help those Democrats who truly want to be free to
actually break free of this evil ideology.

In the weeks and months to come, we will hear the voices of well-meaning
people beseeching the victor to compromise with the vanquished. This would
be a mistake. Conservatives must not compromise with the left. Good people
holding false ideas are won over only if we defeat what is false with the
truth.

The left must be defeated in the realm of ideas, just as it was on Tuesday
at the ballot box. The left hates the ballot box and loves its courtrooms,
which is why it hopes to continue to advance its agenda through the
courts. This must end.

The left bewitches with its potions and elixirs, served daily in its
strongholds of academe, Hollywood and old media. It vomits upon the
morals, values and traditions we hold sacred: God, family and country. As
we learned Tuesday, it is clear the left holds the majority of Americans,
the majority of us, in contempt.

Simply, a majority of Americans have rejected John Kerry and John Edwards
and the left because they are wrong. They are wrong because there are not
two Americas. We are one nation under a God they reject. We remain
indivisible despite their attempts to divide Americans through their
relentless warfare against class, ethnic and religious unity.

We still believe that liberty and justice is for all. In 1946, there were
those on the left who believed the Germans and the Japanese were incapable
of democracy and liberty. Today, many doubt democracy can be birthed in
Iraq or Afghanistan. Like their forebears, they too will be proved wrong.

The nation has now resoundingly rejected the left and its agenda. We do
not want to become European. We do not want to become socialist. We do not
want to become secular. We are exceptional. We are unique. And we are the
greatest force for good in the world, despite what the left, the
terrorists or the United Nations may claim. It is for these reasons that
we remain the last great hope in the world for freedom.

We continue to be that shining city set on a hill. And we fully accept the
responsibility; we are proud to be the envy of the world.

Are things looking better for the liberals today than they were then? Your opinions?
