Hello old friends.

Well, I have officially had it with this administration and the war (actually, that happened a long time ago, but....)

I have a question.

Does anybody here know of a website that announces any and all antiwar/antiBush protest activities across the country? Times/Places, etc...

I travel a great deal and this old farker is ready to hit the streets and join the protesets, just need a resource.

Thanks

I don't know of a site that has a comprehensive list of all anti-Bush protest activities. I would check out the websites for the various peace groups. I would contact the Democratic Party or the Peace and Freedom Party or the Progressive Democrats of America, or even ANSWER (which several people on this forum don't like). You might even try contacting Democracy Now or Air America, the radio stations. I also just discovered a church that is involved in a lot of peace activities in the country, the Church of the Brethren.

Hi beamer.

Actually, funny you should mention: One of my good friends is very involved in PDA, but that site does not offer a "list". I am a member of the Democratic Party and every one of their sites are pretty useless for this sadly. (I was even a candidate for office back in 2002, so I have a good idea here). I will check out Peace and Freedom. I am an avid listener and supporter of Air America, however there is nothing there. I will check out Democracy Now.

And finally, the most interesting thing about your post is that I was baptized as a teen into the Church of the Brethren! I have not been involved with them for a long time however, and I do remember that they are religiously anti-war and have a long standing tradition there, however in my experience with them in the past, that is not their emphasis, but it is certainly a big component of their faith. I will check out their websites as well.

I am looking for some kind of a website/clearing house for war protest activities in the US, and I am amazed that while I can find many websites supporting Peace, almost none of these offer any kind of protest calendar!

If I find anything, I will certainly post the link here.

LOL....interesting site, although perhaps they could lead me to a few protests.

Other Update:

I checked the COB website and they do have a Peace section, but it primarily consists of camps and conferences and not political action....ahhhh, took me back to my years at Camp Peaceful Pines many years ago...

Also, Democracy Now did not have anything.

Still seeking.

Well, then I would try ANSWER. Locally, we have the Coalition for Peace and Justice that sponsors protests and CODE PINK. We also have a website for Activist San Diego.

Check out this website. There's a whole list of peace website links on the right side.

Last night I went to a peace event at the Church of the Brethren here in San Diego. It was inspiring.

There also is the movement to establish the Department of Peace. Dennis Kucinich and Marianne Williamson are involved.

I believe the peace movement is gathering steam.

Ugly....just checked out that Wolverine site a little more thoroughly...I am amazed at just how many sick people there are there. I would be more than happy to engage those freaks.

Cool that you can LOL in the face of brown shirts... Just speaking from experience of the 60's ... thugs can infiltrate and really screw up the works... CYA.

Some good links there beamer....still no calendar, perhaps getting in touch with some of the people listed on the Department of Peace site listed here in AZ will help. I will give that a try.

And yes, the movement is gathering steam, especially as the atrocities and the COVER UPs of Haditha and now another war crime come to light, I believe that by this election many more candidates will openly call for an end to this war and the removal of our forces from Iraq.

I remember the 60's (however they say if you can actually remember the 60's you weren't really there). I was very young back then and involved in said COB.

Upon further review of that site, I'm no longer laughing.

Still, I am not afraid of those pukes and am fully prepared to stand up.

Thanks

Bits and pieces of it do flash back into my memory... some if it was not very pretty... luckily I did not suffer directly, but many friends were injured... watch some of the old videos of protest marches of the 60's and learn... there were some tragic events by some very bad people in power...

some humble advice: ... study Ghandi... no signs, no weapons, no anger... just massive, overwhelming unity... solidarity... resolve... and faith.

I wasn't so young that I have forgotten all that you mention wunder.

By the way, I believe I may have found the site!
