QUOTE
Larry King:...the nine Democratic women of the United States Senate issued a challenge to the Republican leadership. They unveiled what they call a checklist for change. Nine important issues they say the Senate can and should take specific action on right now.

Each of them are taking on an issue~
Mikulski-is about pensions.
Stabenow-is about jobs.
Feinstein-is about stem cell research.
Boxer-protecting air, land, and water.
Clinton-making America energy independent.
Murray-protect America and our military families.
Cantwell- Make college affordable for all.
Landrieu-prepare for future disasters.
Lincoln-make small business healthcare affordable.

I watched this last night and it was excellent. What a strong and organized group of women ! Articulate, sensible, no bull, no competition within the group. Knocked my socks off !
And they were all quite relaxed not only in front of the camera but also with one another. Made me wonder what the government would be like if the women ran it. thumbsup.gif

I didn't see it on Larry King but on C-Span. I recall when at the
democratic convention, I believe it was, the women of Congress were honored and profiled. Don't know that I had any influence but I had sent in a suggestion requesting that. We need more women in government. Our state has a great woman governor, Janet Napolitano. But before that we had a couple of Republican ones, not so good, just not as qualifed and it was surely evident in their terms.
