I caught this ad on CNN this morning around 6:48 am. Unfortunately I apparently didn't remember the URL for the website. I thought it was something like 60plustravel.net or something like that, but that must not be it. Anyhow, the commercial is really weird. I can't remember the beginning, but then it cuts to this blurb about Santorum oushing some bill to guarantee Socual Security benefits to people aged 50 and over (Santorum is standing right there with the guy in the ad, but doesn't say anything). Then it switches back to this ad about travel for retired people. Anyhow, it basically comes across as Rick Santorum is working to make sure people 50 and over have their Social Security, so book your travel with our agency. Seriously. Really weird. I've never seen an ad that was like a business commercial and campaign ad all in one.

Guess I wasn't the only one who saw it.
http://gort42.blogspot.com/2006/07/weird-ad.htmlHe's saying it's
http://60plustravel.com/ though there is nothing on that site linking to Santorum and it's kind of a generic site. To be honest, it looks like the kind of site I'd tell people not to use, because there's no way to know if it's legitimate. I'm not convinced he got the right URL though.

Ah, it's all tied to this 60 Plus Association (
http://www.60plus.org/), though the commercial is still strange.

Apparently Gort has done a little more investigation into this ad:
http://gort42.blogspot.com/2006/07/update-on-weird-ad.htmlSounds like a pharmaceutical company fronted group posing as a group for seniors.
