Both of them were lying SOB's on this issue. You'll notice that they constantly equate the 2nd. Amendment to the term "Sportsman".
I wonder if those patriots at Concord Bridge that day were Skeet shooting?
Politicians are deathly afraid to define the Amendment, and what it was designed for.

They were always targets...flesh and bone targets.
Unless, of course, you were close enough for the spray.
Books, guns and gemstones...in that order. Peace.

I remember when I was a kid we'd go squirel hunting in the woods on my Grandpa's farm. I guess when I was about 16 a fellow from Maine who was quite a liberal bought the place next to Grandpa.

He was to say the least a real character and I'm not saying this in a good way. My first aquaintance was him when he climbed over Grandpa's fence and confronted me for shooting his squirels. Told me I had no right to have a gun and to be shooting wildlife. Being a southern boy I was respectful of my elders and went on back to Grandpa's house to tell him about this episode.

Well this fellow went back to his house and called the Sheriff that I was shooting his animals. They showed up at Grandpa's about thirty minutes after I did. I showed them the three squirrels I'd shot and invited them to have some stew when we fixed it.

We all resolved I'd must a shot one of that fellows squirrels because elsewise they'd a never let a nut like him get loose in the wood.
