I really don't understand why they're comin' down like a ton of brick on Congressman Bob Filner (D-CA) for his little airport incident, eh? I mean methinks what he allegedly did's small potatoes compared to the thing Congressman Patrick Kennedy (D-RI) did to the elderly black female airport security guard at LAX some years back, and Kennedy got away with just an insincere apology and payin' an out of court settlement to her for the injury he caused (see here, here and here).

I'm curious to see what y'all think 'bout this, eh?

Kennedy's happened in 2000

This happened during Bush's term where everyone is treated harsher, plus he is a democrat?

Both are Dems, both happened in 2000 or after, Filner is known for temper outbursts even prior to this. Umm so maybe the Kennedy name, or perhaps the person pressing the charges wants a settlement like the Kennedy case?

So Bush was not president until January 2001,Clinton was still President, and 9-11 did not happen.
Back then there was not extra restrictions and this was still America not fully changed.
It was just an act of stupidity, like this one should be
But people are prosecuted for nothing these days in Bush's world
More people press charges now than ever.

Seems right after Della Patton filed her suit a story planted in the Boston Globe got her fired from her job, and the decision by the LA powers that be to quash any chance of criminal proceedings was quickly made. Since then Congressman Kennedy's had lots more problems (a few more substance abuse problems, couple car crashes whilst drivin' under the influence, abandoned a girl on a boat in Long Island Sound requirin' the Coast Guard to come rescue her, trashed a rented yacht to the tune of 'bout $28,000 damage and then abandonin' it aground, and much more) that've pretty much not been covered by MSM, with nothin' more'n a couple more insincere apologies and stints in rehab fixin' everything, eh?

Unfortunately for Congressman Filner methinks he's gonna find he's not so well connected. My money's on him gettin' prosecuted for his alleged misdeed.
