Yeah, maybe we should just kill them all and let God sort them out, hu?

Let's just hope that they'll be there to pick you up.

Since advertising is my career, I'm curious as to why you think it was a great ad?

The Marines have a great tradition...Army grunts have
force power that carried every fight. It's nice to land...and
good to hold against force. Every branch has their traditions and pride.
Marines, Army grunts, The Teams...recon...Rangers...intel...commo...air power.
Without each other we get caught holding our member in our hands.
Everyone man and woman who soldiered-up has place with me.
All are brothers and sisters...who risked all. Ads are nice...press
is nice...but green and blue (navy, air force) all play...and all are glad
as hell when they show up in support.

I know without Intruders, Phantoms, F-14s, Cobras and arty...there would have been more
grunts gone. I loved all of them. Respect all of them. Thank God there was some at the other
end of that radio...it gets simple when you a*s*s is in a sling. And, combined forces is where it's at.

When ya have to call in air support on your own position...you understand.
You understand that a people are fighting you...that your situation is critical...
that your ability to fight is endangered...but immediate.

Medals of Honor have been based on such...Google Bromley German...
of the 196th LIB...he was a predecessor...I met his love interest at
a reunion...she loved him like her breath...he died as a man...a soldier...
and he set the bar for the rest of us...he is chiseled on The Wall.

So...y'all talk the talk....but, I remember...the best...and I bow. Unworthy.
...and tears come readily...without shame...without hesitation...we were
soldiers once and young
...and even if we were wrong, we loved this country
like no others. That's why I love GIs now...they may not be perfect...but damned
they are glorious. Forget about it...it don't mean nothin'...or maybe...everything.

May we as Americans be worthy of their sacrifice...it's the best we can be.

Snuffy, do you have trouble expressing your opinions?

I personally think all these departmental and interdepartmental rivalries are silly. All the branches of service are paid for with the same tax dollars. But I like to push the Marine's buttons every now and then because I came from a family of Marines, but joined the Navy. Marines claim to be the "elite fighting force" until someone mentions SEALs.

A former SEAL came to me this past week on behalf of his step-daughter.
She had a DUI and has community service to do. I knew him before he was
with The Teams...and know him now...he has place...his step-daughter
shares some of that. I will try to impress upon her the need to be straight,
to know service and honor. If I do so correclty she will learn...and we will all
benefit. She is a daughter to me as he is a brother...just the way it goes.
She will know there is an uncle that will watch...care...and expect...and
I hope she will be empowered and proud enough to be a lady. She will
have support in that vein.

I went into a public-'ouse to get a pint o' beer
The publican 'e up an' sez, "We serve no red-coats here."
The girls be'ind the bar they laughed an' giggled fit to die,
I outs into the street again an' to myself sez I:
O it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' "Tommy, go away";
But it's "Thank you, Mister Atkins", when the band begins to play
The band begins to play, my boys, the band begins to play,
O it's "Thank you, Mister Atkins", when the band begins to play.
I went into a theatre as sober as could be,
They gave a drunk civilian room, but 'adn't none for me;
They sent me to the gallery or round the music-'alls,
But when it comes to fightin', Lord! they'll shove me in the stalls!
For it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' "Tommy, wait outside";
But it's "Special train for Atkins" when the trooper's on the tide,
The troopship's on the tide, my boys, the troopship's on the tide,
O it's "Special train for Atkins" when the trooper's on the tide.
Yes, makin' mock o' uniforms that guard you while you sleep
Is cheaper than them uniforms, an' they're starvation cheap;
An' hustlin' drunken soldiers when they're goin' large a bit
Is five times better business than paradin' in full kit.
Then it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' "Tommy, 'ow's yer soul?"
But it's "Thin red line of 'eroes" when the drums begin to roll,
The drums begin to roll, my boys, the drums begin to roll,
O it's "Thin red line of 'eroes" when the drums begin to roll.
We aren't no thin red 'eroes, nor we aren't no blackguards too,
But single men in barricks, most remarkable like you;
An' if sometimes our conduck isn't all your fancy paints,
Why, single men in barricks don't grow into plaster saints;
While it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' "Tommy, fall be'ind",
But it's "Please to walk in front, sir", when there's trouble in the wind,
There's trouble in the wind, my boys, there's trouble in the wind
O it's "Please to walk in front, sir", when there's trouble in the wind
You talk o' better food for us, an' schools, an' fires, an' all:
We'll wait for extry rations if you treat us rational.
Don't mess about the cook-room slops, but prove it to our face
The Widow's Uniform is not the soldier-man's disgrace.
For it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' "Chuck him out, the brute!"
But it's "Saviour of 'is country" when the guns begin to shoot;
An' it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' anything you please;
An' Tommy ain't a bloomin' fool -- you bet that Tommy sees!
