Islamabad is in the grip of political wrangling over the formation of a new government. Some big political players have made hasty retreats, content to wait and see what comes next. Not the US, however, which is mending bridges between embattled President Pervez Musharraf and his opposition rivals, and conducting secret talks with all sides.
